FAQ Q) Do I need to be a member to apply for tuition assistance? A) No, you do not need to be a member to apply. However, you will need to become a member of the GNODCA in order to receive tuition assistance, should you be chosen as an award winner. You will also need to fulfill the required qualifying activities described below.
Q) What are the GNODCA "qualifying activities" mentioned in the application? A) At this time, the GNODCA has two events that apply--we march in Mardi Gras parades and we also have a drink booth at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which takes place during the last weekend in April and the first weekend of May. Both of these activities are fundraising events that help to provide funds for things such as the Tuition Assistance program. Your requirement will be to participate on both fundraising activities. Both events are great fun and will not only help raise funds for the organization, but also provide you an opportunity to meet other members of the association.
