GNODCA 2009 Tuition Assistance Award Winners

The Greater New Orleans Drum Corps Association is proud to announce the GNODCA Tuition Assistance award winners for the 2009 drum corps season, Joshua Williams and Justin Coughlin. Both applicants exhibit the dedication, determination, and spirit that embody the ideal drum corps member.

Crossmen contra

This year’s winner in the Horn Division is Joshua Williams, a second-year contra player for the Crossmen. Aaron Goldberg, the Brass Caption Head, had this to say about Joshua: “He is an accomplished musician, intense marcher, and passionate performer. He is the perfect model of drum corps work ethic, and is a rising leader within the hornline."

Our second award winner, winning the Percussion Division, is Justin Coughlin of the Cadets. Justin is marching his age-out year after a five year career in drum corps-- two years with the Crossmen, followed by three years with the Cadets. Front Ensemble Supervisor, Iain Moyer, spoke very highly of Justin: "I am ecstatic to hear that your organization has selected Justin Coughlin, the Front Ensemble Section Leader of The Cadets, as the recipient of your 2009 award. Justin is an exemplary member of the Cadets Drum Corps, having performed in the Front Ensemble since 2007. He is an incredible talent and a great Cadet, and most deserving of this award!"
