The GNODCA is happy to announce that the GNODCA Tuition Assistance Program has been renewed for the upcoming 2010 drum corps season. Applications are open to all people marching in any competitive junior drum corps. A $500 award will be given to one member in each of the three sections: Percussion Division, Horn Division, and Guard Division. GNODCA 2010 Tuition Assistance Program The Greater New Orleans Drum Corp Association was established to foster positive experiences for all students by promoting education, creativity, and freedom of expression through the drum corps activity. The GNODCA Tuition Assistance Program provides funds to help offset the cost of fees for young performers of our activity who pursue to perform with competing junior drum and bugle corps.
Due to the success of the 2009 Tuition Assistance Program, The Greater New Orleans Drums Corps Association has decided to again offer tuition assistance of $500 for the upcoming 2010 season. We hope to provide assistance to three worthy applicants, one from each position within a competitive junior drum corps: brass, percussion, and guard. Please see the application for more information.
Application deadline has been extended to March 1, 2010. Click here for 2010 application.

FAQS Q) Do I need to be a member to apply for tuition assistance? A) No, you do not need to be a member to apply. However, you will need to become a member of the GNODCA in order to receive tuition assistance, should you be chosen as an award winner. The GNODCA membership fee of $25 will be waived for all award winners. You will also need to fulfill the required qualifying activities described below. (Aside from these tuition program activities, membership in the GNODCA carries no additional requirements.)
Q) What are the GNODCA "qualifying activities" mentioned in the application? A) At this time, the GNODCA has two events that apply--we march in Mardi Gras parades and we also have a drink booth at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, which takes place during the last weekend in April and the first weekend of May. Both of these activities are fundraising events that help to provide funds for things such as the Tuition Assistance Program. Your requirement will be to participate in one of these fundraising activities. Both events are great fun and will not only help raise funds for the organization, but also provide you an opportunity to meet other members of the association.
