Welcome to The Greater New Orleans Drum Corps Association Website. The purpose of GNODCA is to preserve and build on the great tradition of the drum and bugle corps activity; to appropriately represent the greater New Orleans area as well as Louisiana, the United States and the drum and bugle corps activity worldwide; and to stimulate interest in the study and teaching of music and the arts.
The GNODCA Virtual Annual Business Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 6:30 pm by telephone. This will be a telephone conference call. All who will be joining the call will need to provide your name and phone number to be included in the event. You will be called into the conversation. We are hoping you will join us in this virtual business meeting!
See earlier post below about Virtual Annual Business Meeting for information on meeting registration, voting (live or by proxy) and membership dues (due October 1).
Two Board Members will be elected for 3-year terms at this year's meeting. Cheryl Gautreaux and Gail Perrin have been nominated for the open positions. A little information about each of them is listed below:
Cheryl Olivier Gautreaux
Cheryl Gautreaux joined the "Bleu Raeders" Drum & Bugle Corps in 1975 where she was in the guard. In 1981 they merged with the "Stardusters" to become "Louisiana Southernaires". There she remained until she aged out.
Cheryl joined GNODCA in 2004, our inaugural year. From FY2009 - FY2011 & FY2015-FY2020, she served on the Board of Directors and several years, on the Social/Banquet Committee. She remained an active member in the Echoes until 2012 and remains a GNODCA active and "Regular Member in Good Standing."
Cheryl comes from a "Drum Corps Family". The Olivier Family, Cheryl included, have remained active with the Jazz Fest beverage booth for 30+ years. She is married and the mother of 2 children.
Gail Perrin began her drum corps experience with Expressions Drum & Bugle Corps in 1989. She has been a member of GNODCA and “Echoes of New Orleans” since 2005. For two fiscal years she served the Board in an appointed position, then a 3-year term as a regular elected member. Gail plays the baritone for us.
Gail was a teacher and Computer Lab Manager at Midway Elementary in the Tangipahoa Parish School System. She is active with her church as well as Star Trek and Doctor Who fan clubs.
Gail has proven to be a member with commitment to the music and the Board.

The Crescent City Color Guard started strong for their returning 2020 Color Guard competition season! The Crescent City Color Guard (CCCG) had done a lot of work on their 2020 show and had a good start in the competition season when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit our area. The color guard circuits decided the responsible thing was to shut down the season and protect all of our kids and hard working volunteers, directors, show personnel & fans. Although it was a heart breaking decision to our CCCG Directors and members, it was the right thing to do.
We congratulate the CCCG for all they accomplished this year! And we all look forward to next season, if health conditions allow.
The CCCG is sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Drum Corps Association (GNODCA).
Go to the Crescent City Color Guard link at the right for more information.
If you have any questions or for more information contact CCCG at CrescentCityColorguard@gmail.com.
